A 24/7 Chelsea joint that offers the Big City a chance to taste a new twist on old “comfort food” recipes.  Having only been to New York City a couple of times on very brief trips, my recent expedition to the Big City was a chance for me to really explore a variety of dining venues.  Of the various breakfast places I had the chance to patron; this place was by far my favorite.

Wild Eggs

Affection and desire can come in many forms, but the way I feel about the new Wild Eggs restaurant in Wash Park can only be described as obsessive love.  I LOVE the variety of dishes they have to offer.  I LOVE the inventive take on old, traditional recipes.  I LOVE the half priced Bloody Maries and Mimosas served on weekdays.  I just downright LOVE this place.  So much so, in fact, that I went there for breakfast twice in one weekend.

Since the gastropub first appeared in England as a way to introduce gastronomy into a friendly pub setting, the concept has been making its way across America finding low key foodies in all of the city stops it makes. Table 6 is a cozy American bistro featuring ‘daily’ menus that abide by their rule of using fresh and in season ingredients.  Its contemporary-country décor offers only a little insight into the origins of the often complex menu.  As a self described foodie, I was surprised and embarrassed that I was unfamiliar with a number of the items on the menu.  The descriptions were so specific that it might take a professional chef or baker to know what 72% Valrhona is.  (P.S.
